As human beings we are constantly engaging and disengaging in everything we do. We engage and disengage at work, in marriage, as parents, in our quest for health and well-being, in personal finances, environmentally, politically, and, of course, we engage or disengage spiritually.
If you walk into any Catholic church next Sunday and look around, you will discover that some people are highly engaged, others are massively disengaged, and the majority are somewhere in between. Why? What is the difference between highly engaged Catholics and disengaged Catholics?
Answering this question is essential to the future of the Catholic Church. If we truly want to engage Catholics and reinvigorate parish life, we must first discover what drives engagement among Catholics. Matthew Kelly explores this question in his groundbreaking new book, and the simplicity of what he discovers will amaze you.
Four things make the difference between highly engaged Catholics and disengaged Catholics the four signs of a Dynamic Catholic.
Whether you are ready to let God take your spiritual life to the next level or want to help reinvigorate your parish, The Four Signs of a Dynamic Catholic promises to take you on a journey that will help you to live out the genius of Catholicism in your everyday life.
The central idea in this book should change the way we live our faith and the way we teach our faith. This book is a game changer.

"Matthew Kelly has written this book in a common sense approach to re connect dis enchanted Catholics who are among the 93% of Catholics who do not attend Mass on a regular basis.I had to figure out a way to give you a short view of what this book is about. so hopefully it will wet your appetite and you go online or to a local bookstore and buy the book. I have noticed a comparison of a person on fire and a person that is glowing. A person on fire is just that, too hot to get close to. A person who is glowing from the inside out is like looking at at house at night and you can see inside the house. I think this book does just that "Glows" from the inside out!! It is presented in such a way, the person reading is looking forward to the adventure. Matthew Kelly states further into the book how "Rediscovering Catholicism" Should be passed out at Christmas and Easter to the attending congregations."

- Motivation speakers have always intrigued me but I have not had the opportunity to hear Matthew Kelly speak. I have read several of his books and all of them are impressive. I love his theme ofâ€a better version of yourselfâ€. All contribute to that. Reading his books gives every one the chance to “listen†to a world class promoter right in your home. I love the kindle additions on my iPad for the large size print to make reading easy. A Matthew Kelly book will make you a better version of yourself.
- Enjoyed the book very much, easy and intriguing read. The author brings in a lot of local background which enriches the story. And everyone enjoys a satisfying ending in a story!
- But for Dynamic Catholics, four habits are quite enough. Matthew Kelly's book describes each of these and, more importantly how we can emulate them. He begins with of course, what a dynamic Catholic is and how rare they are in the body of the Church as a whole -- only 7 percent of Catholics live up to this description. Kelly has more than a passing interest in all this however. His passion is to increase this number and most of his book details for the reader how he or she can easily develop the qualities that make for dynamism in the faith.
It's interesting reading and the arguments are compelling. I did have my reservations at the beginning since it read like a salesman's pitch -- well done, but still a pitch.
However, as I read on I found that Kelly has a really engaging ability to work his own experiences into the argument and this lifted it from just another how-to book to something that truly made me stop and think
Can I do this?
Kelly has an easy answer Yes. And an easy method one tiny step at a time. This is a real strength of the book. You want to pray better? He has a very sound plan -- and you can do it one tiny step at a time. For each of the four signs, Prayer, Study, Generosity and Evangelization, there is a separate plan and the same small beginning. It really makes it impossible to refuse. - A very easy to read book and very thought provoking. I am a "cradle-Catholic" and I am learning many things. I would recommend this book to book clubs and other reading groups. Easy to read.
- Matthew Kelly puts the simple message out there, Be Bold, Be Catholic. This is not to say Catholics are superior, it simply means we need to stop apologizing to the world for being catholic. We all know the Catholic Church has well-publicized scandals, but those are human flaws, not spiritual. If you've left the Catholic Church or are considering going to mass, read this book. If you going to ANY church, read this book. It brings simplicity to religion & hopefully to all of our lives. I'm no longer going to shy away from my faith, I need to build it & I hope by sharing it, my faith will grow as well as yours.
- I read the hard copy of Matthew Kelly's Four Signs Of A Dynamic Catholic and got the version to keep from wearing it out. It's that important. Mr. Kelly has sounded a clarion call for Catholics - for all Christians, actually. Like Fr. Landry, above, I would have liked to have seen a stronger link to the sacraments. But I think the author's intent was to centralize the message into lay action, to galvanize lukewarm Catholics into action, not justify authenticity. Baby steps. Lost in many of the reviews is the message that the Church, the people part of it, needs a new game plan to stop bleeding souls. This "game changer" will rekindle the dynamic expansion process of winning souls for God. The author does not rashly claim to know what this game-changing plan might be. But he knows that, if enough people are enthusiastic about their faith, it will attract more people. Most everyone loves happy. This new era of Pope Francis might just be the beginning of a new plan.
- This is an amazing book and needs to be read by many people! My husband and I have discussed the concept of revitalizing the Catholic church and Matthew Kelly has the answers! Starting with individuals and building up parishes and finally the Church as a whole! Oh I pray this book will find it`s way into many hands ad minds! It is the first time I have felt real hope for the Church and the world. Enjoy, be inspired and change the world!!
