- This straight-to-the-point and easy-to-read book is applicable to my MBA program, and really breakdowns and reiterates what I am learning. In the first chapter, I learned how to win my audience attention by using the method called the “WHY Statementâ€, which is stating “clear, concise, and compelling†information from the heart whether I am public speaking or doing an elevator pitch to my clients.
While the first chapter is the basics, the following chapters goes more in-depth, from getting a consistent name for a company in the word-of-mouth chapter, writing compelling content and power media hooks to readers, targeting media to a specific audience, responding quickly and preparing for important interviews, to following up and reinventing the stories to extend media success. I’ve recommended this book to my MBA program chair at my University because it will go hand-and-hand with my MBA program and my chair agrees.
This is definitely a must read for any wannabe entrepreneurs. - This is an excellent book for anyone looking to learn how they can market/publicize their brand, work, product, etc. As someone who works in the media, I can tell you that Liz’s advice is spot on! She shares exactly what it takes to get your story on-air or in print in this highly competitive media market today. She does all this with real-world examples and in a way that is fun to read and easy to comprehend. This is definitely not a boring how-to book. Well worth the purchase for anyone looking to learn more about PR in today’s world!
